About Us
Keiki O Lana'i Preschool is a licensed, federally and state registered private non-profit organization formed in 1981 by parents and residents of Lana'i. Our school's goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, developmentally-appropriate preschool program
to children of Lana'i ages 3 to 5.

Certified staff
We introduce to you our dedicated staff: Our certified teacher/director Alice Granito and our teacher aides Aunties Jess, Mel, and Susan. The preschool is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that is served by interested parents and community members.
The interaction between staff and children is characterized by warmth, personal respect, individuality, positive support, and responsiveness, which provides opportunities for children to develop self-esteem, social competence, intellectual growth, and an understanding of self and others.
Learning through play
We believe that children are active learners. The major activity for your children is PLAY and it is the basic ingredient of all learning. The classroom environment is set up through learning centers to stimulate children's natural curiosity and hands-on interaction with material and people. This is also the way in which young children develop an understanding of themselves, of others, and the world around them.

Activities to help us grow
Learning centers include creative arts, language arts, math, manipulative, building and construction, science, listening center, music and dramatic play. We recently introduced self-sustainability with gardening where children will be able to learn the meaning of farm to table. Certain days have scheduled activities like story time at the library and singing to the seniors at the senior center.
Our institution is an equal opportunity provider.
